Belete Biratu is the High School Principal at Medhane-Alem School in Yetebon and is a proud father of a boy and a girl. He has been the school’s principal for the last two years.

“I grew up here, and because this is my home, I have to make sure we are providing the best education and care for our people because they are the future of this place,”

he says passionately.

Belete’s local knowledge has been useful in having community buy-in and trust for the school and the students he serves.

“Our goal is to ensure every student at the school has a well-rounded education. A good education means they can do more for everyone.”

Belete concludes.

Today,  Project Mercy is considered one of the best high schools in Buta Jira, with its quality of education and accessibility to laboratories and experimental classes. Belete is committed to keeping this status.
