Ester Silvers

Ester Silvers, now retired, taught Primary Special Education for 14 years followed by 22 years as a first-grade teacher in Yakima, Washington. She was born in Lockney, Texas and is the youngest of 10 siblings. It was during the early 1960s, her parents who were seasonal workers moved the family to the Pacific Northwest and ended up settling in Prosser, Washington.
In 2013, Ester joined her husband and other fellow Rotarians to Ethiopia for the International Polio Immunization Drive. While there, she had the opportunity to tour Project Mercy school, the hospital and the Dr. Hamlin Fistula hospital.
Ester lives in Yakima and has been married for 37 years to Eric Silvers; a State Farm agent and they have two sons who are State Farm agents as well. They are blessed with two beautiful grandsons.
