Board member

Gary L. Darmstadt, MD, MS, is Sue Alvarez Professor of Neonatal and Developmental Medicine and Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He currently serves as Associate Dean for Maternal and Child Health and Co-Director of Global Pediatric Research at Stanford. Dr. Darmstadt’s career spans academic medicine, global health leadership, and public policy. He has trained in Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University, Dermatology at Stanford University, and completed his Pediatric Infectious Disease fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle, where he was also Assistant Professor in Pediatrics and Medicine. He and Teresa Wakeen-Darmstadt (spouse) have both previously served as Board Members and have been long time friends and supporters of Project Mercy.
